PanPastel Colours are made using a unique manufacturing process requiring minimal binder and fillers, resulting in rich, ultra soft and super-blendable colours.
Each Panpastel colour is loaded with the finest quality artists’ pigments for the most concentrated colors possible. The colours have all been tested for lightfastness and are fully erasable.
PanPastel and soft pastel sticks create very different marks. Compared to sticks PanPastel Colours are semi-transparent, mixable and low dust. They are also a quicker and cleaner way to achieve more uniform coverage for large blocks of colour.
Can I use fixative with PanPastel?
Yes, PanPastel is compatible with all conventional spray pastel fixatives. Although it is not essential as with soft pastel sticks so fixative can be used to protect the artwork.
Which surfaces should I use with PanPastel?
PanPastel Colours work well on SO many different surfaces - from very low tooth to high tooth, surfaces through to toothy pastel surfaces and everything in between. Drawing papers, pastel papers, canvas, vellum, watercolour papers, print-making papers, cardstock and more. Also, because they are not wet, PanPastel Colours don’t cause lightweight papers to “buckle”, and the Sofft sponge tools are gentle on delicate papers such as Japanese handmade papers.
What makes Sofft Sponge special?
The sponge material used is unique to Sofft. Panpastel developed Sofft’s micropore sponge formulation specifically for use with PanPastel. They really do load and release the colour perfectly. Sofft Tools also work great with most water-based artists materials – inks, acrylics, watercolours etc
